I was so excited to get this system! I even bought two games a la carte to go with it. The system itself is okay, but its so small-which makes for a problem it says it fits genesis cartridges but the two I bought don't fit right and they play but they get stuck in there. The worst problem is the controllers, man, are they bad. I would rather have one wire controller than two wireless pieces of garbage! You literally have to be sitting or standing right in front of the machine and even then the controllers dont do Down very well. I was playing Ms. Pacman and couldnt move in the downward direction, you can guess how fun that is! I am thinking about buying a wire controller but I am hesistant to spend any more money on this dissapointing system!

I have given it a 4 star as it lets you use your old cartridges and the controllers but the games seems to work almost flawlessly in my eyes as i purely enjoy the music and gameplay of the sega games but with this i can only enjoy the gameplay as the audio seems to be low pitched or slow sounding, but still a good buy in my eyes as it is rather small and fits on my tv stand rather nicely

But the Genesis Flashback also wisely includes the standard DB9 port that the original Genesis had, meaning your old (or eBay-acquired!) controllers will work just fine on the Flashback, a major improvement from the SNES Classic’s bizarre choice to use a Wiimote expansion port. The negative on that one? AtGames throws in not bad, but not excellent, wireless controllers instead of taking the opportunity to offer excellent wired controllers. Another negative: You will have to use the six-button Genesis controller, even though many of the included games don’t require it. No three-button pads allowed.

Nintendo launched the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection alongside the Wii and Nintendo DS, which utilized GameSpy's servers to offer free online multiplayer.
