Yes, if you make sure that each of the components is easily replaceable or upgradeable. You could also try to find a VR-ready system, in case you want to add virtual reality capability in the future. This should definitely include a GPU capable of maintaining at least 90 fps to avoid simulation sickness when using VR. These might make the setup a little pricier, but it's definitely worth spending a little extra here.

First and foremost, the video game console(s) and television need a central piece of furniture to keep everything organized, yet accessible. IKEA has many home entertainment consoles, but the budget minded gamer will appreciate what the popular EXPEDIT line offers. Not only is there a mount to raise a flat screen to an optimal viewing level, but the storage units are perfect for displaying consoles, game boxes, and other decorative items.
HyperX, a division of Kingston Technology, offers gamers both RGB peripherals and components for the different gaming setup as Alloy Elite RGB keyboard, Pulsefire Surge Gaming Mouse and Predator DDR4 RGB. Since the first Cloud Gaming Headset was launched, HyperX surpassed 5-million gaming headset sales mark in 2018 and continues to gain new fans globally.
Choose the one with high-quality leather and good memory foam to keep you comfortable during extended gaming hours and one with a built-in microphone for communicating with your teammates. Although these headsets are primarily used for gaming, it’s also important to consider its capability to produce high-quality audio for late night music sessions.
We think the following is gear gamers should upgrade if they’re able. Again, you can either do so systematically as you gather some cash, grab a few at once, or setup an entire new rig — it’s all on you! Or perhaps even start building your own gaming computer if you want to save some money as well. If there are some different recommendations or even gear you feel we left out, let us know in the comments. Just as a heads up, click on the links below of the gear to jump to that specific section’s recommendation. We’ll also link you to some of our guides in case you want some more information or additional gear picks to compare and contrast.

It will take a little work, but gaming keyboards can be optimized for efficiency, reducing the amount of stress put on your muscles and tendons while you play. By leveraging customizable keys, you can assign specific keys to the game you are playing. Create macros to complete tasks that would usually take a ton of actions while easily changing keyboard setups for different games. By reducing the total actions & distance your hands need to cover, a gaming keyboard is step 1 to playing longer, and hopefully better...but no promises on that one.
If a PC computer or Mac aren’t your thing and you prefer to game on a laptop (whether you’re traveling or just prefer the sleek and versatile build of them), we have one of the best right here. The HP Omen is a gaming laptop that’ll give some PC’s a run for their money when it comes to capabilities. We remember back in the day attempting to game on a laptop but couldn’t come close to getting the quality we needed — it was barely recommended to try doing so (and keep in mind we were running Counter-Strike 1.6). Nowadays however in this year, times have definitely changed.
Having decided which CPU we were going with, we knew the motherboard type we would need. You don't have to spend a bundle here—fitting the correct socket type for your processor is the chief concern—but nicer boards come with some nicer features. We went with the MSI B360-A Pro (using the LGA 1151 socket), which supports eighth-generation Intel chips like the Core i5-8400.
If you find yourself flexing and rotating your wrist to alleviate pain between rounds, check your grip. You want your wrist & hand in a neutral (straight) position as much as possible. If you arch your hand up to the mouse, you are putting strain on your muscles and will get sore. Mousepad wrist supports are an easy way to minimize joint stress. It'll prevent the dreaded claw grip on your mouse, and keep you raiding into the AM. If you already have a mousepad, wrist supports can be purchased separately and used with your current setup.

It’s easy to see why sound bars are replacing larger home theater audio systems. They’re cheaper, require less cables, can fit into almost any size room, and easily adapt to a wide range of hardware like tablets and smartphones thanks to Bluetooth connectivity. When it comes to quality, price, (and style) Sony’s HT-CT260 is one of the best in its class and the model I recommend.

Partially for our own entertainment, we used the Alpha 550W case's remote control to change the fan lights from automatic to a variety of static colors, trying to sync them as well as we could with the Deepcool cooler (controllable through a physical button, which we accidentally left trapped behind the glass, at first) and the Strimer (controlled through the board mounted in the rear panel). Without any software input, the lights don't exactly match, but they complement each other well enough.
We’ll also give you a sneak peek at what’s under the hood so you can understand why it’s really on our list. With these, you should be well on your way to making your dream setup reality. If you’re inexperienced with PC building, you might want to make sure you want to familiarize yourself with how to build a gaming PC before looking over the best gaming setups of 2019.

What’s a gaming gear upgrade if you’ve gotten a new PC but still have those same old monitors? You may be catching our drift here — if you upgrade one piece of your setup, others may then ask to be changed as well. Ultimately, it’s up to you; a screen is a screen, however there are a few aspects of gaming that should be taken into consideration when looking at a monitor to give us an edge. Originated to function at peak performance in terms of speed, the Dell SE2417HG is compatible with just about everything you can think of. It is crafted with 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60Hz as well as containing 2ms response time and TN Panels, enabling the user to not only have superior vision and clarity, but also with incredible resolution.
Our entry level, affordable Gaming PCs might be designed for those who are just starting out or who are looking for a more affordable way to game, but our low prices don't mean that you have to compromise on quality or performance. Fierce PC offer a wide range of powerful gaming computers for gamers starting out with PC gaming and looking for a cheap gaming PC, or the hardcore gamers looking to play on a budget, but at the same time not compromising the gaming experience.
Eight gigabytes is perfectly adequate for gaming, though—like a Core i7 processor as opposed to a Core i5—some builders will insist on 16GB. There are benefits to adding more RAM; it certainly won't hurt and can speed both general and in-game load times. So if you find a good deal and have room in the budget, throw in an extra 8GB. Since we devoted extra funds to the graphics card in this build, 8GB it is.
This is a great budget computer, it's great for completing work on and using programs like Autocad, all of the Microsoft programs (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, etc...) and Photoshop. It's quite good at running older games and a couple of new ones like Minecraft. Unfortunately, if you're looking to play more modern games like PUBG, Fortnite or Battlefield, then you will definitely need to upgrade the graphics card and the processor to get higher FPS and graphics.
To complete your optimized gaming setup is a classic, the gaming chair. Pairing with a monitor mount will let you get the most benefit out of your perfectly placed monitors. High-backed gaming chairs have a myriad of benefits that can keep you playing longer. By perfecting your posture with support in all the right places, gaming chairs can help prevent health problems during years of extended gaming. They are specifically designed to increase blood flow to your legs compared to traditional computer chairs, which can keep your legs from falling asleep. If you are a serious gamer, getting a monitor mount & gaming chair is a great first step to keep your body healthy and your game strong.
Ross Rubin of Fast Company featured insights from Andrew Coonrad regarding the mechanical gaming keyboard market in his feature article, “The Mechanical Keyboards Of Yesteryear Are Back - And Better Than Ever.” Ross shared, “while dozens of small keyboard makers make only mechanical keyboards aimed largely at the video game market, Logitech is a keyboard giant that caters to a market beyond purists.
Eber Antony of HardwareCanucks reviewed the Logitech G513 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, sharing, “kudos to Logitech for designing a well thought out keyboard.” Applauding Logitech G’s new Romer-G Linear switches, he relayed that you’re “getting a more fluid and smoother keystroke experience, compared to the tactile response you get with the originals,” and when gaming, “these switches are fast and very lighter to actuate, so finger fatigue is completely out of question.”
As with the RAM, we made a concession on the storage to afford the GTX 1070. The quality of the storage is actually high—we purchased a speedy 500GB Crucial MX500 solid-state drive (SSD). There's no accompanying larger hard drive, however, so 500GB will have to do for all your games and files. Yes, that will fill up relatively quickly given the large install sizes of modern games, so you'll have to keep only your favorites or current titles installed at any given time. If you often butt up against the capacity, though, you can always add more storage. The case has plenty of room for more drives, including a few larger 3.5-inch hard drives.

There’s enough hardware to deal with in a home entertainment setup, so why not reduce remote clutter? The Belkin Beacon takes the form of a small black ornament that sits on the coffee table (or somewhere that’s within IR range of the TV) and works like an all-in-one remote for the TV, sound system, DVD / Blu-ray player, Apple TV, and more. The only way to communicate with it is through an iPad, iPhone, or Android app using Bluetooth.

My favorite mechanical gaming keyboard is the CORSAIR STRAFE with Cherry MX Brown key switches. It's tactile, not too loud, and has a sleek modern design. It is fully programmable so you can macro just about anything. Right now it is on sale for only $79.99 (down $30 from last year), which is a great value for this keyboard. If you've got the cash, definitely consider the STRAFE. There is a bit of a learning curve to program it, but you won't be limited like you will with cheaper keyboards.

Video game controllers no longer have to be attached to the system itself, however they do require consistent charging. A multi-unit solutions like the Nykos line of charge stations for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and Wii can keep multiple controllers on standby and top up their batteries without the messy cables while also keeping them neatly stored away.
An often forgotten key to comfortable and extending gameplay is monitor position. Think about your current setup. Is your neck in a comfortable position? Do you have to look up or down at the screen? Is there an annoying glare? Does your monitor position make you hunch down? All of these can have negative effects on your gaming and your body. Monitor mounts are an affordable way to upgrade your battlestation. Easily position the monitors at the right height, and tilt to eliminate glare. It'll keep you upright and stop your slow transformation into a hunched over gargoyle. Your back and neck will thank you.
Similar to the G900 Chaos Spectrum, the G402 Hyperion Fury is another high-speed mouse and one of our favorite picks as the best gaming gear out there. This mouse contains optical sensor technology and combines it with Logitech’s custom built Fusion Engine hybrid sensor that will track speeds up to 500 IPS. Though this high-tech mouse is great for gaming, it is often highly regarded as a multi-use product. The Hyperion Fury is getting high praise for its built-in accelerometer and gyro which augments the capabilities of the optical sensor. If the optical sensor fails to produce due to the mouse’s high speed, this feature allows the mouse to make up time just in case.
