The gaming console you choose will be the brain of your entire gaming system. The graphics, load time, and overall gaming experience all depend on the capabilities of your console. So you want a console that is top of the line and will match the capabilities of your home theater. This is also where you decide whether you want to go with separate consoles or get a gaming PC.
The only thing that we didn’t like about the setup are the 2 ultrawide monitors. Gaming with only 2 monitors is just inconvenient because of the bezels. Moreover, there are some issues with having only ultrawide monitors (which we have discussed in some of the above builds that feature ultrawide monitors). One Ultrawide is great, but we wouldn’t be opposed to swapping it out for 2 smaller 16:9 monitors. Of course, this might increase the overall build cost unless you’re going for 1080p monitors.

Coming to an insurmountable obstacle in the middle of a live video because of a missing, incompatible, or broken component is the ultimate nightmare—thankfully, that hasn't happened to us yet!. But it's fun to take live questions through Facebook, talk to viewers, and make our build as watchable as possible while we work on it at a reasonable pace. In my experience, it's been an entertaining challenge—as long as we don't make any glaring errors! If we do, we can count on our viewers to let us know. Right away.
When it comes to which gear for your own gaming experience and skills should be upgraded, it will ultimately come down to personal preference. We know a few of our friends who are just about professional gamers (big Fortnite people) who prefer an old mechanical keyboard and beat up mouse pad; however, when it comes to their mouse, headset and overall PC rig, they’re constantly on the prowl for the latest upgrades. Others we’ve spoken to can get by with just about any gaming gear as long as it works, while some others we know are consistently trying to get that edge over their opponents in any way possible.
There’s enough hardware to deal with in a home entertainment setup, so why not reduce remote clutter? The Belkin Beacon takes the form of a small black ornament that sits on the coffee table (or somewhere that’s within IR range of the TV) and works like an all-in-one remote for the TV, sound system, DVD / Blu-ray player, Apple TV, and more. The only way to communicate with it is through an iPad, iPhone, or Android app using Bluetooth.
Want to build a gaming PC that's both a performance monster and a showpiece? It takes equal parts strategy and money. We can't help you with the bucks, alas. But we've mapped out and built enough PCs to know where to save and where to splurge. You can count on lots of bang for buck these days in two key areas—mainstream video cards, and gratuitous RGB bling—and we aim to max those out for the money.
It doesn't matter if you have 1, 2, or 3 screens, there is a monitor mount perfect for your situation. Not to mention you'll gain back desk space for your peripherals, like your new keyboard & mousepad. Monitor mounts attach to your desk via a wobble-free clamp or onto your wall, it is one of the easiest ways to upgrade your gaming setup. With cable managment and nearly unlimited adjustments, it'll put a professional finish on your rig.
An ideal room set up for gamers should balance comfort with an assortment of technologies to make playing a casual game or longer sessions equally satisfying. But most areas of the house set aside for gaming are usually cobbled together without actual planning. What if you could arrange a room optimally specifically for gaming right from the start? Here are 10 items we think every avid gamer’s room should have…
I extended the speaker wires with a 100 foot spool of cable and a little soldiering. Now it's a perfect fit for my entertainment center and it handles 5.1 Dolby in Bit Stream format from my XBOX ONE really well. The treble is crisp and clear as are the mids. I keep the woofer turned down to about 25% and the sound is well balanced and clear from my 39" LED.
