This has to be satire right? Let's break this down. 1. PC games just work, so essentially they are saying that consoles have never had system updates and firmware updates? Just because they don't directly update their drivers doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. 2. You don't need to check the specs because you either have the generation of consoles that can run the game or can't. 3. PC has more AAA games than consoles and we don't have exclusives which hinder the industry more than anything. 4. Yeah no. 5. A steam link and controller costs less than a xbox/dualshock controller. 6. It's just as easy to play at a friends house with a PC than it is on console. 7. This is just... why. There are about 2 genres of games that are better than with a controller. 90% a kbm will be more useful.
When it comes to gaming, Argos are champions. We are your one stop shop whether you need a PS4 console, Xbox One console or, if you fancy playing on the go, a Nintendo Switch. The contest between Microsoft and Sony is fierce, with both releasing high spec versions of their consoles for dedicated fans, the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro respectively. Sony have even re-released their original PlayStation as the PlayStation Classic, which comes preloaded with classic games.
Is a chair just a chair? Is a ‘gaming chair’ really a ‘chair for gaming’? We’re getting pretty philosophical here, sorry. We do have one question, however — what’s an optimal gaming flow and experience without sitting on something comfortable? We all know those long days and nights, no shame at all! Although this is one of the last items listed as the best gear for gaming and one that you may upgrade later down the road, you never know when it’ll come as a need, especially with how much time we spend sitting down to game. The Steelcase Gesture is a high-end chair that is designed with a few advancements that not only make it comfortable with a platinum metallic frame and leather all around, but will certainly help improve your posture. Equipped with adjustable arms that move like a human arm, it allows the gamer to obtain support no matter what position they are in. Our long-term health should be taken into consideration, no?
Want to build a gaming PC that's both a performance monster and a showpiece? It takes equal parts strategy and money. We can't help you with the bucks, alas. But we've mapped out and built enough PCs to know where to save and where to splurge. You can count on lots of bang for buck these days in two key areas—mainstream video cards, and gratuitous RGB bling—and we aim to max those out for the money.
A PC alone does not a gamer make. For the ultimate gaming setup, you need the right tools. You want to start with the right gaming mouse for you. We listed a couple of things to look out for and a couple of good choices. Ultimately, it comes down to individual choice as each person will look out for different features in their gaming mouse. The input machine for any computer, the keyboard, is another important choice. There is a lot to consider when choosing a gaming keyboard. Light up or not, ergonomics, price, and style are all important considerations. Lastly, you need great sound when playing the latest titles. Choosing a gaming headset is a tough choice but we made it a little easier for you. Just make sure it will fit right and sound good and you will have a great gaming setup.

Now, not only are these consoles cheap to buy, but they are also cost-effective in the long run. Provided that you take care of it, a console can last you upwards of 5 years until the next generation of consoles comes along. You will be able to play all the games released for that console with no need to worry about compatibility issues or your hardware getting outdated. As you can see, all of the current-gen gaming consoles are quite affordable, with the exception of the PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X which were “beefed up” so as to support gaming on a 4K TV.
Nintendo has been releasing consoles side by side with the big companies. The Wii came out just over a year after the Xbox 360 and brought a new idea to gaming, motion gaming. Wii U moved towards a handheld experience, allowing gamers to play their games from anywhere in the household using the gamepad. Nintendo's Switch was the most recent release, a powerful fully portable console that is able to be taken and used anywhere. As Nintendo has grown we have seen a shift to more remote gaming. While the Switch is able to be hooked up to a TV, most people still consider it more of a handheld console. This is one of the reasons why Nintendo usually isn't included in the console war. The other reason is the power in their consoles. The graphics and capabilities of Nintendo's consoles has never been able to rival the Xbox and the PlayStation. The Nintendo Switch is becoming a competitor though. With great titles like Zelda Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, the Switch is being considered more of a must have in any gaming setup.
For another entry in the "made to be seen" column for this build, we went for two 4GB sticks of GeIL Super Luce RGB Sync DDR4 memory. For years, RAM had been a relatively low-cost part of PC builds, but RAM prices have spiked in 2018 and have yet to come back down. That said, $79 for 8GB is a pretty good deal, and the RGB strips add yet more pizzazz to proceedings.
We paid for it in effort, though. The Gammaxx isn't abnormal for an air cooler, but its bracket orientation was confusing, and we started screwing in the parts out of order. This had a little domino effect during the build; we had to backpedal a few steps, and it took longer than it probably should have, but it was hardly catastrophic. Lesson: Read the manual, or at least flip through it. (We tried to wing it.)
You have two basic options here, as with any other internet connectivity: wired or wireless (wi-fi). Being even half a second out of sync with others while playing can ruin a game, so it's important to minimise lag. A wired connection helps to keep speeds higher and lag to a minimum, more so than connecting via wi-fi. If you want to test your internet speed, there are many online tools to help you do so.
Sony has made some rather interesting moves to enable backward compatibility, such as letting you stream PlayStation 3 to your PlayStation 4 (or, shockingly, to a PC!) via PlayStation Now for $19.99 per month. I signed up to stream PlayStation 3 games to my gaming PC, and found the entire experience unworthy, with lag and artificating being the major issues.
What makes this one a pick for the best gaming gear however, is the keyboards full-key matrix anti-ghosting mechanism that is perfect for enhancing your accuracy and making sure you’re safe of sticky-keys. Not only does this keyboard look great on your PC or laptop, but its light-weight and can be durable for as long as you need it to be. Sometimes it’s the little things that can thoroughly improve your game, so let the Corsair Vengeance K70 do it all, and get it for quite the reasonable price since it’s a bit cheaper than our previous Razer pick if you wanted to save some cash.
After a trip to PC world, my nephew (who knows a lot more about computers than me) explained a few things to me and I was very surprised to see how much better this PC is compared to what the likes of PC world were offering. Almost double the power, more storage space, double the memory, for almost £150 less!!! You don't get the monitor like the PC World one but after checking online the screen they were offering with theirs cost only £60 on Amazon, so I could buy it separately and still save money!!!
Great PC, it's laughed at everything I've thrown at it (admittedly that's not too much), love gaming in widescreen now that I have acclimatised to it. Components are a good quality brand but the case was selected from the lower price range but it looks good under my desk. My only real issue was with the emails I got regarding delivery - it was delivered within the estimated time but by this stage I had had several emails telling me it would be delivered the next day - the tracking number said it spent several days in Manchester and another few in transit from Manchester

Prices have come down a lot—graphics card prices especially. A 3GB GeForce GTX 1060 will only run you $200 on Amazon, which is incredible. Max out graphics at 1080p resolution and you’ll still hit 60-plus frames per second in basically every modern game. For only $200. And a more future-proof version with 6GB of on-board RAM only costs $260, and that’ll let you game at higher 1440p resolutions without problem.

It is a battle as old as time itself, which console is better? Everyone has their favourite, just like in the Apple V Android debate. There are many different reasons to like each side. Each have exclusive titles to the platform, different features, and different specs. Some stick with one system over another out of loyalty while others heavily weigh the options on both consoles. Lets compare the specs to see what the real difference is. If you aren't interested in the nitty gritty, tech heavy details, then you might want to skip this bit. With the latest release of the Xbox One X, both platforms are almost neck and neck in technical specifications as shown below.
Having decided which CPU we were going with, we knew the motherboard type we would need. You don't have to spend a bundle here—fitting the correct socket type for your processor is the chief concern—but nicer boards come with some nicer features. We went with the MSI B360-A Pro (using the LGA 1151 socket), which supports eighth-generation Intel chips like the Core i5-8400.

For PC gamers that want to give their ears a rest from the persistent pinch of those ear cups, a solid set of PC speakers is just the ticket. Some of these computer speaker packages are nearly as good as their TV counterparts. While they may annoy others in the household, if the timing is right it can be a lot of fun to really crank them up and enjoy lifelike sound at the computer desk.
As we move on to gaming keyboards, it is no secret that Razer Mechanical switches are some of the highest quality we’ve seen — Razer claims you can attain up to 80 million keystrokes with each key (no, we haven’t been able to fully test that yet). Designed specifically to take your gaming to the next level, this award-winning keyboard operates at ideal speeds with optimal responsiveness. It’s designed to be used with both PC and Mac and comes with a free USB port to make your transition a little bit easier. What makes this an addition to the best equipment for gaming is that the keyboard comes with wrist rest features, ergonomics that allows the user to play comfortably for endless periods of time and an overall very stable build with pro-grade material all around the unit.

This was a tricky one. We originally budgeted for an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060—a modest but effective HD gaming card. Most of the time with that card, in most games, you get at least 60 frames per second (fps) in 1,920 by 1,080 gameplay with settings at or near maximum. But it's not a powerhouse. The GeForce GTX 1060 Founders Edition retails for $299, so from the start we were picking the rest of the components with a GTX 1060 at that price in mind. As the process went on, though, we were tempted by the more powerful GeForce GTX 1070. Something about going through all of the trouble to build a gaming-specific machine only to use a GTX 1060 just felt underwhelming.
